//Sorry everyone, I’m taking a brief hiatus. Life’s busier than usual recently. See you all soon!
Tashirojima (田代島) is a small island in Japan known as “Cat Island” due to the large stray cat population. The cat population is now larger than the human population on the island, and thrives as a result of the local belief that feeding cats will bring wealth and good fortune.

"Noted. 4chan’s girlfriend is a clever girl." -Wikipedia
Duela slowly stood herself back up, carefully examining the girl at the door, and half-considering this as her chance to do a backflip off the bars and escape, but that could draw too much unwanted attention to herself.
"Just….examining the school grounds," Duela replied cautiously, gesturing her head at the campus view below. It was a half-truth.
Still analyzing the foreign girl, she began to get the feeling the girl wanted to remain as unnoticed as she did.
"Hey….I won’t tell anyone about you….if you don’t tell anyone about me… Deal?” Duela bartered on her suspicions.
Sam carefully released her grip on the door handle, trying not to be conspicious. Silently debating if she should accept the deal, she shuffled forward only the tiniest centimeter. The girl’s did seem rather sweet… but was she to be trusted to keep her word?
She quickly glanced at the person opposite her, taking in her appearance for the first time. Hn. Green hair (not as if she hadn’t seen stranger) and an expression that showed just as much joy for socialization as her. Body tensed, as if ready to flee any moment. But was Sam not striking the same pose?
"…I suppose so. But if you break the deal, I will-" (a dozen ideas flashed through her mind; she couldn’t exactly threaten to dye her already strange-colored hair) "-well, you better off not knowing. Surprise and all that." Sam resisted the urge to smirk, trying to maintain the guise of being menacing.
“Hey!”Stephanie called out to the other girl “I think you dropped this”
Grinning she held up a mechanical pencil she had just retrieved from the ground.
“Your Asami right?” She asked without waiting for an answer as to weather the pancil was hers. “Nice to meet you! Can I call you Sam? Im Stephanie but you can just call me Steph if you want.”
She was getting overly excited at the thought of meeting someone else who was also relitively new that she was practically running all her words together.
But she didn’t even seem to notice as her electric blue eyes seemed to spark with excitement.Sam glanced reluctantly back at the door leading to her bed, before eyeing the perky blonde in front of her, feeling slightly overwhelmed by all the run-together words. “Ah, yes, and sure, you call me Sam.” Smiling a (slightly) crooked grin, she continued, “You are a freshman, too?”
Duela had herself pushed up against the support bars and slightly crouching, now looking at the girl in the doorway. She paused for a moment, knowing she had to reply, but trying to pick her words carefully in her scatter-brain. Even in a crowded city, it had been a long time since she’d had a conversation not involving lawyers or police.
"Hello" she finally responded, “What….are you doing up here?" she asked slowly, trying not to sound accusatory.
Sam’s eyes instinctively narrowed at the other girl’s words. She hadn’t planned on coming up to the roof to have some sort of territory fight.
But making enemies wasn’t exactly on her to-do list, either. So keeping things calm would probably be best. “Just wanted place to think…” She shifted on her feet, quickly glancing back at the door, her hand still resting on the handle. Maybe fleeing would be best. However, her pride wouldn’t allow that, nor would her genuine curiosity. “And you?”
